BEYOND 28 will publish poetry collections, novels, and short story collections authored by people of the Black and Brown diaspora—including African, African-American, Latin-American, and other communities of color—as well as intersectional tales based on religion, gender, class, Orientation and more, all in the lens of said diaspora.
the name comes from the 28 day of February, also known as Black History Month, and is a reminder to remember, document, and celebrate our tales so they take flight throughout this year and the many to come.
Poets and Authors Elliot Fant (P.O.M.E.) and Paul Con Queso, who also host Poetry in the Bricks Open Mic will lead the branch as Editors-in-Chief. Fant recently released his Third book, “The World as Eye See It,” while Con Queso released a chapbook entitled “Disappearing Boy.”
With these new positions, Fant and Con Queso join BEYOND 28’s parent company in EvoluCulture, which now extends its mission of holding space for artists and art lovers to the publishing world.
BEYOND 28’s first two projects include the launch of a literary magazine entitled “Living Lit.” Paul Con Queso’s Editor-in-Chief duties will focus primarily on the journal, of which an open  call will be announced soon.
In addition, BEYOND 28’s first full-length poetry collection will be “Stand Tall: New and Selected Poems,” the 4th collection authored by EvoluCulture CEO and Founder, Sean Battle. The book will be released October 2024, in-conjunction with the release of his first spoken word album, “Don’t Run.”
More projects to be announced in the coming months.
